Founded in the 1950's, Tokyo, Japan, Daiya was an important toy maker and appears to have been most active from the late 1950's through the early 1970's, after which they disappeared from view.
Today, Daiya's current disposition is unknown. It is presumed to have succumbed to marketplace pressures in the early 1970's.
Daiya made mechanical (friction) and battery operated toys like robots, space toys, cars, motorcycles, horses, military vehicles, helicopters, airplanes, and figures like clowns.
