John Day from the UK was a pioneer in manufacturing 1/43rd scale white metal models. Production started in Malvern, Worcestershire, in 1971.
The range mainly consisted of classic sports and racing cars which were not available as models from contemporary diecast model manufacturers.
In the 1970s and 1980s, the John Day models were mainly sold in kit form, but some models were also available as factory built versions. In 2000, John Day introduced a new range of 1/76th scale white metal kits called 'Vehicle Scenics'.
He passed away in summer 2006, but his family is continuing his business.
